하나님을 섬기다 보면 반드시 죄는 아니지만 믿음생활에 방해되는 것이 많이 있습니다.
There are things in life that are not necessarily sin but distract us from loving the Lord our God.
사람마다 다르지만 TV, Internet/인터넷, 관음증, 음란물 중독자, 숨어서 보는 것, 어떤 여배우가 옷 벗고 70억 벌었다고 하잖아요.
This may look different for each person. This can include voyeurism or addiction to pornography. It is said that one actress earned 7 billion dollars for getting naked.
신문, 잡지. Golf, 낚시, 노름, 장기, 바둑, 등산, 무엇이든지 도에 지나치면 신앙이 방해를 받습니다.
There are other distractions such as newspapers, articles, golf, fishing, gambling, Go, hiking, or any other addiction. Such things can be a hindrance to our faith.
어떤 사람은 탐욕, 욕심, 도적질 한인 마켓에서 도둑놈 잡고 보면 교회 권사들이 많다잖아요. 교만, 게으름, 시기, 질투, 명예 단호하게 끊어버려야 합니다.
For others, it can be greed or covetousness. It is said that many kwonsas steal things from Korean markets. For others, it can be pride, laziness, jealousy, or fame. We must put an end to these things.
이 세상에 유행이 얼마나 많습니까? 머리 모양도 길었다 짧았다, 가지각색의 물감도 들여요. 눈동자도 물감을 들여요.
Trends constantly change. Long hair is in fashion one day, short hair another day. People dye their hair in all kinds of colors. They even wear colored contact lenses.
그게 다 나쁘다는 게 아닙니다. 때로는 시대가 변하면서 유행을 안 따라갈 수가 없지요.
I am not saying these things are bad. Sometimes, we do not want to be the odd ones out.
심리학자들의 말을 빌리면 여자들은 몸이 아파 병원에 누워 있어도 자기 외모에 신경을 쓴다는 것입니다.
Psychologists say that women care about their looks even when they are bedridden in the hospital.
사느냐? 죽느냐? 하는 시간에도 자신의 아름다움이 다른 사람에게 어떻게 평가되느냐 거기에 신경 쓴다니 대단하지 않습니까?
To live or to die? Isn’t it astonishing that women think about their beauty and how they will be perceived by others even at such a moment?
어떤 목사님이 예고 없이 어느 집사님 댁에 심방을 갔더니 문을 딱 여는데 집사님 얼굴이 전혀 딴 얼굴이더랍니다. 눈썹이 하나도 없더래요.
A pastor once visited a deaconess without prior notice. When she opened the door, the pastor could not recognize her. She had no eyebrows.
하나님이 우리를 만드실 때 머리카락은 잘 자라도록 만들었지만 눈썹은 머리카락처럼 잘 자라지 않습니다. 그런데 요즘 여자들은 잘 자라지도 않는 눈썹을 아예 다 밀어버렸습니다. 예뻐지려고요.
When God made us, He designed our head hairs to grow quickly. Hair grows quickly, but eyebrows do not. Women these days shave their eyebrows even when it takes so long for them to grow back. All this for their visual aesthetics.
