예수님께서는 산상수훈을 중심으로 수준을 아주 높여서 영적으로 성령 충만하게 사는 사람을 행복한 사람이라고 했습니다.
Jesus revealed through the Sermon on the Mount that one who is filled with the Holy Spirit is truly happy.
“심령이 가난한 자는 복이 있나니 천국이 그들의 것임이요,”
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
정신적, 물질적 가난 아닙니다. 하나님 앞에서 영적으로 아무것도 없고, 아무것도 할 수 없는 영적 파산자 Spiritual Bankruptcy 라는 뜻입니다.
Jesus was not talking about mental or material poverty here. He was referring to spiritual bankruptcy. He was talking about one who was spiritually broken.
누가복음에 나오는 세리와 같은 사람 탕자와 같은 사람 입니다. 심령이 가난 한 자, 그 사람이 행복하다는 것입니다.
He was referring to people like tax collectors and the prodigal son who appear in the gospel of Luke. The poor in spirit can be happy.
“애통하는 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 위로를 받을 것임이요,”
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
자기 자신이 영적 비참함과 참담함 때문에 우는 사람, 영혼의 애통인데 이런 사람을 하나님이 위로해 주신다는 것입니다. 그래서 행복합니다.
God comforts those who mourn over their spiritual brokenness. God comforts those who grieve over their wretchedness. Thus, they are happy.
“온유한 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 땅을 기업으로 받을 것임이요,”
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
세상은 힘의 논리인데 어떻게 온유한 자가 땅을 차지합니까? 그러나 하나님은 이 세상의 땅은 우리가 노력해서 얻은 게 아니고 하나님이 주신다는 것입니다. 하나님의 은혜의 선물이기에 행복한 것입니다.
How could the meek inherit the earth when the powerful rule? Jesus taught that we cannot acquire the earth through our efforts, but that God must give it to us. The meek are happy because they receive this gracious gift from God.
“의에 주리고 목마른 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 배부를 것임이요,”
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
거룩하신 하나님의 뜻대로 하나님이 기뻐하시는대로 살기 위하여 몸부림 치는 자가 의에 주리고 목마른 자입니다. 영의 굶주림과 갈증을 느끼는 사람에게 하나님은 신령한 배부름을 얻게 해 주신다는 것입니다.
People who hunger and thirst for righteousness do everything they can to live according to the will of God. God will satisfy those who are spiritually hungry and thirsty.
“긍휼히 여기는 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 긍휼히 여김을 받을 것임이요,”
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”
다른 사람들을 향해서 긍휼히 여긴다는 것입니다. 이웃을 향해서 자비, 용서, 사랑으로 불쌍히 여기는 사람 행복한 사람입니다. 하나님이 긍휼히 여겨 주시기 때문입니다.
Those who are merciful towards others are also happy. Those who love, forgive, and have compassion for their neighbors are happy because God will have mercy on them.
“마음이 청결한 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 하나님을 볼 것임이요,”
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
원래 인간은 청결한 마음으로 창조 되었지만 죄로 말미암아 부패하고 타락해서 하나님을 볼수 없게 되었습니다. 그런데 예수그리스도를 믿는믿음안에서 신령한 눈으로 하나님을 보는 것입니다. 하나님을 보는 사람 행복합니다.
Humans were originally created pure. However, they were corrupted at the Fall, and they could no longer even look to God. But it is through faith in Jesus Christ, that we are now allowed to face God. Those who are able to see God are happy.
“화평하게 하는 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 하나님의 아들이라 일컬음을 받을 것임이요,”
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
원래 우리는 평화의 자녀들이었지만 죄로 말미암아 하나님과 원수가 되었습니다. 그러나 예수그리스도 때문에 하나님의 자녀가 됐습니다.
We were originally created to be children of peace, but we became enemies of God due to sin. But now, we are called children of God because of Jesus Christ.
그러므로 Trouble maker가 아닌 Peace maker로 살아라. 그것이 천국 시민의 성질이고 자격이고 본분이기에 모든 사람과 더불어 화평하게 살아라.
Live as a peacemaker, not a troublemaker. We are to live in peace with everyone since that is the essence and duty of citizens of heaven.
