2.확신하라고 했습니다. Be convinced of.

현대를 가리켜서 공중에 매달린 거미처럼“불확실성의 시대”라고 합니다.

This generation is called a “generation of uncertaintly” like a spider hanging from a web.

그래서 어떤 비평가는 현대에 확실한 것은 내가 죽는다는 것과 택스를 내야 한다는 것밖에 없다, 좋은 것이 많긴 많은데 확실한게 없다는 것입니다.

So one critic said that what is certain in this generation is that I will die and that I need to pay tax, There are many good things, but no certain things.

확실한게 없으니까 먹고 마시자 장미꽃을 피워라, 하고 싶은 것 다 하면서 살자, 유물론 주의자가 됩니다.

Since there is nothing certain, lets eat and drink. Do whatever you want to do in this life. People become materialists.

그래서 바울은 디모데에게 이 세상에는 확실한게 없다, 그러니 성경을 배우라, 그리고 확신해라.

So, Paul told Timothy that there is nothing certain in this world. Thus learn the Bible and be convinced of it.

그렇습니다. 성경공부를 해 보신 분들은 잘 압니다만 성경공부의 매력은 성경을 공부하면 할수록 확실해진다는 것입니다.

That’s right. Those who have studied the Bible know it well. What is fascinating about Bible study is that the more you study the more you become convinced of it.

가정문제, 자녀문제, 사업문제, 직장문제, 결혼문제, 건강문제, 진로문제, 인생이 겪는 모든 문제가 분명하고 확실해 진다는 것입니다.

Problem with family, children, business, career, marriage, health, future, and all the problems of life become clear.

그러나 이 새상의 학문은 공부하면 할수록 더 모르고 뭐가 뭔지 더 복잡해집니다.

Nonetheless, the more you study worldly scholarship, the more confused you become.
