한국교회가 존경하는 한경직 목사님이 노년에 그렇게 욕을 많이 했다고 해요.
The late Rev. Kyung Jik Han, one of the most respected pastors in the Korean church, was rumored that he swore a lot towards the end of his life.
아마 한평생 동안 욕하고 싶어도 참고 살다가 노년에 하신게 아닌가…
I personally assume that he had probably suppressed all his feelings of anger all his life, which might have been unintentionally leaked out through his weaknesses…
그렇습니다. 하나님은 우리가 선한 말로 하나님 영화롭게 하고 서로서로 위로하고 격려하며
That’s right! Our God desires that we glorify Him, and encourage and exhort one another with kind words,
역사를 이루어 나가기를 원하십니다. working out a great history for His Kingdom.
일찍이 바울은 “거짓을 버리고 참된 것을 말하라 무릇 더러운 말은 너희 입밖에도 내지 말라. 오직 덕을 세우는데 소용되는 대로 선한 말을 하여 듣는 자들에게 은혜를 끼치게 하라.”
Paul the apostle said, “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor…Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
소극적으로 살라는 것 아니지요. 적극적으로 살라는 것입니다. 참된 말하라는 것입니다.
It doesn’t mean that we live passively. It strongly reinforces that we live actively and aggressively. It means that we speak the truths.
참된 말, 선한 말이 무엇입니까? 하나님의 말씀을 선포하고 전도해야 합니다. 위로하고 덕을 세워야 합니다.
What are truthful words, kind words? We have to proclaim the Word of God and share the gospel. We have to encourage and edify one another.
서로서로 선한 말을 하므로 은혜를 끼치게 해야 합니다. We have to bless each other with kind words
그렇습니다. 위로의 말입니다. 친절한 말입니다. 격려의 말입니다. 좋은 말입니다. 진실한 말입니다.
That’s right! Kind words are words of encouragement and appreciation. They are words that exhort and strengthen others. They are good words. They are truthful words.
하나님이 들어도 사람이 들어도 괜찮은 말입니다.
They are pleasing in the sight of our God and people.
진리를 말해야 합니다. 믿음의 말을 해야 합니다. 축복의 말을 해야 합니다.
We have to speak the truth. We have to speak words of faith. We have to speak words of blessing.
