- 바쁜 일과 중요한 일 Busy vs. Important Things 눅 LK. 10:38-42
“그들이 길 갈 때에 예수께서 한 마을에 들어가시매 마르다라 이름하는 한 여자가 자기 집으로 영접하더라 에게 마리아라 하는 동생이 있어 주의 발치에 앉아 그의 말씀을 듣더니 마르다는 준비하는 일이 많아 마음이 분주한지라 예수께 나아가 이르되 주여 내 동생이 나 혼자 일하게 두는 것을 생각하지 아니하시나이까 그를 명하사 나를 도와 주라 하소서 주께서 대답하여 이르시되 마르다야 마르다야 네가 많은 일로 염려하고 근심하나 몇 가지만 하든지 혹은 한 가지만이라도 족하니라 마리아는 이 좋은 편을 택하였으니 빼앗기지 아니하리라 하시니라”(누가복음 10장 38절-42절)
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.“
발명왕 에디슨은 “천재는 1퍼센트의 Inspiration 영감과, 99퍼센트의 Perspiration 땀, 노력으로 이루어진다.”
Thomas Edison once said, “A genius is made of one percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration (sweat).”
사람들은 보통 이 말의 뜻을 성공은 노력에 달려있다, 얼마나 노력하느냐, 노력의 필요성 차원에서 이해했습니다.
This quote is often interpreted to mean that success depends largely on hard work.
다시 말해서 아무리 모자라는 머리를 가지고 있다고 하더라도 열심히 땀 흘리고 노력하기만 하면 그 노력이 부족한 영감을 채울 수 있다고 생각합니다.
In other words, even if someone lacks natural intelligence, they can succeed through sheer determination and effort.
그러나 에디슨은 이 말의 뜻을 좀더 자세히 묻는 기자들의 말에 사뭇 다른 이야기를 했습니다.
“그것은 99퍼센트의 노력보다 1퍼센트의 영감이 더 중요합니다.
However, when people asked Thomas Edison about the meaning of this quote, he clarified that the one percent inspiration is actually more crucial than the hard work.
1퍼센트의 영감 없는 99퍼센트의 땀과 노력은 헛수고에 불과합니다.” 그러면서 그는 1퍼센트는 아이디어다.
According to Edison, without the initial spark of inspiration, the 99 percent of labor becomes futile. He explained that the 1 percent represents the idea or vision.
다시 말해서 전구를 발명하기 위한 이 아이디어를 가지고 수천 번, 수만 번을 거듭하는 실험과
시행착오가 필요한 것이 자연과학 이다.
With the idea of inventing the lightbulb, Edison conducted numerous experiments.
그러므로 영감 없는 땀과 노력은 무의미한 것이다.
Therefore, without this initial inspiration to innovate, all the subsequent hard work would have been meaningless.
그렇습니다. 오늘날 현대 크리스천들에게는 열심이 부족한 것이 아니라 영감이 부족합니다.
Yes, Christians today are hardworking, but they lack inspiration.
교회도 프로그램이 부족한 것이 아니라 영성이 영적 파워가 부족합니다.
Churches are not lacking in programs rather, they lack spirituality and spiritual
power.
