조개가 여러 개 있어도 진주 품고 있는 조개는 값이 달라요. 예수 그리스도를 소유한 우리는 왕같은 제사장입니다.

There could be different shells, but ones with pearl have different value. Those of you who have Jesus Christ,

거룩한 백성입니다. 예수 그리스도를 모시고 있기 때문에 우리는 가치가 있습니다.

you are a royal priesthood. You are holy nations. Since we have Jesus Christ, we are  worthy.

어떤 홀어머니가 아들을 키워 장가를 보내 며느리를 얻었는데 손주를 낳았어요.

There was a single mother who raised a son and he grew up and got married. His wife bore a son.

너무 귀해요. 그런데 며느리가 일 나갔다 오면 시어머니가 아이를 보는 것은 좋은데 항시 할머니 젖꼭지를 물리고 있단 말이에요.

The baby was precious one. However, every time the daughter-in-law came back home from work, she saw the grandmother letting the baby suck on her breast.

‘어머니 젖 물리지 마세요.’ ‘야야, 그런 소리 하지 마라 애비도 이 젖먹고 컸다.’ 요즘 신식 2세 며느리가 이해가 안 된단 말이지요.

“Mother, please do not do that.” “Hey don’t tell me that. His dad also was breastfed, grew.” The young woman- the daughter-in-law- could not understand her.

며느리가 속이 상해서 목사님께 가서 상담을 했어요.

She was very upset so she went to a pastor for counseling. “Pastor, what should I do?”

그때 목사님이,“맛으로 승부하세요.”

The pastor said, “Win it with taste.”

우리가 왜 거룩한 백성입니까? 신앙 때문입니다.

Why we are holy people? Because of faith.

그렇습니다. 역사의 위대한 인물들은 하나같이 신앙이 있었습니다.

That’s right. Great historical figures all have faith.

모세도 신앙이 있었기에 이스라엘 백성들을 가나안 땅으로 인도했습니다.

Moses also had faith, consequently, he led Israelites to the land of Canaan.

역사의 위대한 지도자가 되었습니다.

He became a great leader in history.

바울도 하나님 중심의 철저한 신앙이 있었기에 세계 기독교를 만들었습니다.

Paul also made world Christianity because of his thorough faith in God.

하나님 중심의 신앙으로 복음을 전하며 역사를 바꾸어 놓았습니다.

Paul with God-centered faith preached the gospel and changed history.

그렇습니다. 신앙 붙잡고 살아야 합니다. 신앙으로 살면 좋은 길을 선택할 수 있습니다.

That is right. We need to hold onto faith. We can choose a good way, living by faith.

내일을 아는 사람은 아무도 없습니다. 불완전한 게 세상입니다. 그러나 우리 그리스도인들은 염려하며 걱정할 필요 없습니다.

No one knows what tomorrow holds. Anxiety is prominent. However, we, Christians, should not worry and fret.

우리 앞에 어떤 어려운 문제가 있어도 두려워할필요가 없습니다.

We should not be afraid of whatever problems we may face.

하나님 붙잡고 철저한 신앙으로 살아가면 은혜와 축복의 문이 열릴 줄로 믿습니다.

I believe that if we hold onto God with strong faith, doors of grace and blessings will be open.
