알아도 좋고 몰라도 좋다는 얘기 아닙니다. 해도 좋고 안 해도 좋다는 얘기 아닙니다.
He’s not saying, it does not matter whether you know it or not. Neither is he saying, it does not matter whether you do it or not.
너는 내가 하는 말을 똑바로 명심하고 들어라, 그리고 반드시 그렇게 살아야 된다. 그러면서 바울은 디모데에게 지금 우리가 살고 있는 이 시대가 어떤 세상이냐?
You must listen carefully to whay I say and you must live that way. Then Paul asked Timothy, what kind of world are we living in now?
예수 그리스도 안에서 믿음으로 경건하게 살고자 하면 핍박을 받고 악한 사람들과 속이는 자들은 더욱 악하여져서 속이기도 하고 속기도하는 시대다;
Those who seek to live a holy life by faith in Jesus Christ often face persecution, whereas those who collaborate with evildoers tend to become more corrupt and deceive one another.
사람들은 자기를 사랑하며 돈을 사랑하며 자긍하며 교만하며 훼방하며 부모를 거역하며 감사치 아니하며 거룩하지 아니하며 무정하며 원통함을 풀지 아니하며 참소하며 절제치 않으며 사나우며 선한 것을 좋아하지 않으며 배반하며 조급하며 자고하며 쾌락사랑하기를 하나님보다 더 사랑하는 시대다;
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
경건의 모양은 있으나 경건의 능력은 부인하는 자니 이같은 자들에게서 너는 돌아서라
Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
그리고 너는 하나님의 자녀답게 살아라, 경건하게 살아라, 하나님의 거룩한 백성으로 살아라, 성령충만하라, 사랑으로 살아라, 믿음으로 살아라.
And you live as a child of God, live a godly life, live as God’s holy people, be filled with the Holy Spirit, live by love, live by faith.
지금 시대가 이렇게 타락하고 어려운데 너는 한눈 팔지 말로 세상 본받지 말고 세상과 타협하지도 말고 배우고 확신한 일에 거하라.
The present age is so depraved and cruel, so you make sure you are not conformed to this world, do not comprise with the world, but continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of.
그렇습니다. 죄란 것이 무엇입니까? 보통 죄를 이야기할 때에 ‘하지 말아야 하는 것을 하는 것’으로 죄를 많이 설명합니다.
That’s right. What is sin? People usually say sin is “doing something that I should not do.”
그러나 적극적인 의미에서 보면 당연히 해야 할 일을 하지 않는 것, 그것도 죄라고 성경은 말합니다.
However, in a positive sense, the Bible says that not doing what we clearly have to do is sin.
