세상을 살다보면 내 힘으로는 도저히 해결할 수 없는 어려운 문제를 내가 부둥켜안고 혼자 아무리 애를 써 보았자 소용이 없습니다.

Then, our difficult problems in this world would vanish. When we live in the world, we struggle with difficult problems

그럴 때는 잠시 내 마음을 그 문제에서 떠나게 하고 우리 모두는 새로운 꿈을 가지고 살아야 합니다. 희망을 가지고 살아야 합니다. 또 다른 생각으로 소망이 넘쳐야 합니다.

that we cannot solve with our own strength. At such time, we need to forget about the problems for a while and we all have to live with new dreams. We must live with hope. Another thought must overflow with hope.

그러므로 우리는 어떤 환경에서도 낙심하지 말아야 합니다. 실망하지 말아야 합니다. 손을 늘어뜨리고 두려워하지 말아야 합니다.

So, we shouldn’t feel discouraged in any environment. Don’t be disappointed. Don’t let your hands down and be afraid.

기운을 내야 합니다. 일어서야 합니다. 정신 차려야 합니다. 기죽지 말고 힘을 내야 합니다.

Be energized. Stand up. Stay focused. You need to stay strong without getting overwhelmed.

이스라엘 유대 나라에는 선한 왕도 있었지만 악한 왕도 많았습니다. 히스기야 왕은 선하고 좋은 왕이었습니다.

There were some good kings, but many were bad in Judah. King Hezekiah was a good king.

그러나 그 아들 므낫세 왕은 나쁜 왕이었습니다. 그가 통치하는 동안 나라는 도덕적으로 부패하고 종교는 다원주의 혼합주의로 심각하게 타락하고 부패했습니다.

However, his son Manasseh was a bad king. During his reign, the country was morally corrupt, and religion was seriously corrupted by pluralistic syncretism.

예루살렘 성전에서는 하나님만 섬겨야 하는데 때로는 태양신을 섬기고 바알, 아세라 목상 등 우상을 섬겼습니다.

In the Temple of Jerusalem, only God was to be served, but sometimes he served the sun god and idols such as Baal and Asherah.

므낫세 왕이 죽고 아들 암몬이 왕위를 계승하지만 그도 역시 아버지 므낫세 왕처럼 자신을 위해서 국고를 탕진하고 백성들을 무질서와 혼란에 빠뜨렸습니다.

King Manasseh died, and his son Ammon succeeded to the throne, but like his father Manasseh, he also spent the national treasury for himself and jeopardized the nation in disorder and chaos.

그 결과로 그는 쿠데타로 피살되고 맙니다. 그리고 그 다음 정권을 잡은 사람이 요시야 왕인데 요시야 왕은 나이는 어렸지만 참 훌륭한 왕이었습니다.

As a result, he was killed in a coup. Next successor was King Josiah, who was young but a very good king.

좋은 신하들의 조언을 받아들여 나라를 잘 다스리며 일대 종교개혁을 단행하며 열심히 일을 했습니다.

He accepted the advice of good servants and ruled the country well, carrying out great religious reforms and work hard.

그러나 이미 때가 너무 늦었습니다. 그때에 등장한 선지자가 스바냐입니다. 스바냐는 하나님으로부터 타락한 유대가 곧 망할 것이라는 계시를 받고 하나님의 심판과 재앙에 대해서 예언을 했습니다.

But it was too late. The prophet who appeared at that time was Zephaniah. Zephaniah prophesied of God’s judgments and plagues after receiving a revelation from God how fallen Judah would soon be ruined.

그 소식을 듣고 지도자와 백성들은 정신을 잃고 한숨 쉬며 큰일 났구나 낙심하며 절망했습니다.

Upon hearing the news, the leaders and the people were dismayed, sighed, and despaired.

종말이 오고 하나님의 심판이 내려진다고 하니 두려움과 겁이 났습니다. 그래서 많은 사람들은 미래를 포기하고 하던 일을 멈추고 그저 하루하루 낙심과 절망과 슬픔 속에 빠져서 살아가고 있었습니다.

When the end was near and God’s judgment was issued, they were terrified. So many people gave up their future, stopped working, and were living in discouragement, despair and sadness every day.
