미국에서 가장 성공한 두 기업이 있습니다. 하나는 디즈니랜드이고 또 하나는 맥도날드 햄버거 회사입니다.

There are two very successful companies. One is Disneyland and the other is McDonalds.

디즈니랜드는 손님들이 하루에도 수십만명이 다녀가는 대기업이 되었습니다.

Disneyland has tens of thousands of guests visiting the place.

그런데 디즈니랜드에서는 손님들이 가고 난 뒤에 모두 모여서 손님들이 만족하도록 하기 위해서 서로서로 준비를 한다는 것입니다.

But at the end of the day, Disneyland workers get together to discuss how to increase satisfaction of customers.

맥도날드사도 마찬가지입니다. 손님을 끌기 위해서 그들의 경영전략을 세운다는 것입니다.

McDonald’s company is the same. They discuss how to attract the customers.

교회도 그렇습니다. 교회가 일상적인 일에 빠져 있지 말고 교인의 상황이 어떠한지를 살피고, 목장은 목장대로 그들의 요구가 무엇인지 알고 그 요구를 들어주고 선교회는 선교회대로 영적으로 도움을 주고 필요를 채워줄 때에 교회는 부흥하고 교회의 목회적 사명을 다 감당할 수 있는 것입니다.

Church is the same too. The church shouldn‘t be fallen into perfunctory tasks, but be watchful and mindful of what the congregation needs, what the small group needs, what the mission group needs. And when this is done, the church will revive and will be able to fulfill the pastoral calling.

마르다가 음식때문에 분주하게 움직인 것 보다는 마리아가 예수님의 마음을 알고 예수님의 말씀을 듣기 위해 옆에 앉은 것을 더욱 칭찬하셨던 것입니다.

Jesus commended Mary who understood Jesus’ heart and sat next to Him instead

of Martha who was busy preparing food.

최근 많은 사람들이 “사랑으로 행하라 봉사하라 교회가 앞장서서 실천해라”는 등등…행동주의 신학을 말하고 있습니다.

Many people say, “Act and serve through love etc. and believe in this theology centered around acting.

좋은 말입니다. 그러나 그 보다 더 중요한 것은 하나님의 말씀에 기초하지 아니하고 행동하게 되면 잘못되기 쉬운 것입니다.

Yes, it‘s good. But what’s crucial to know is that acting without the foundation of the Word of God is misleading.

참된 믿음은 말씀을 들음에서 생기는 것입니다. 우리가 하나님 앞에 말씀 듣는 것 은혜 받을 일이요 복 받을 일입니다.

True faith comes from hearing. We need to hear God's word to receive grace and blessings!

사랑하는 성도 여러분! Beloved brothers and sisters!

지금 여러분은 마르다입니까? 아니면 마리아입니까? 바쁘고 분주한 일을 앞세우는 마르다가 아니라 중요한 일을 하는 마리아가 되시기를 바랍니다.

Are you Martha or Mary? I pray that you become like Mary who focuses on what‘s important than Martha.

언제 어디에서나 바쁜 일에 얽매이지 말고 주님께서  내게 원하시는 중요한 일이 무엇인가를 항상 깨닫고 그 일을 앞세우는 여러분이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.

I pray that you don’t get too occupied with busy things that you forget what God truly wants and what’s truly important.
