현대인의 비극은 말씀도 듣지 않고 자기 멋대로 살다가 허무주의에 빠져 무너지고 마는 것입니다.

An example of modern day tragedy is to live life without the Scriptures and be fallen into empty and false lifestyle.

오늘날 많은 교회가, 오늘날 많은 성도들이 말씀과 기도 없이 행동을 주장한다는 것입니다. 그것은 하나님 안에서 엄청난 신앙의 오류인 것입니다.

Many churches and congregation nowadays disregard the Bible and prayers and just focus on actions. It’s a false faith.

구 소련의 망명작가 솔제니친은 미국을 비롯한 서방세계가 쇠퇴하는 세가지 이유를 말했는데

Solzenich mentioned why western world including the US is tainted:

1) 서구사회가 처음에는 신본주의적 사회였으나 지금은 인본주의적 사회로 바뀌고 있기 때문이고

1) The western society was first centered on spirituality but now it’s focused on man.

2) 처음에는 하나님을 경외하는 믿음의 사회를 이루었으나, 지금은 물질만능주의 즉 유물론적

가치관을 가지게 되었기 때문이고

2) The society was founded as a community of faith fearing God, but now it is centered around materialism.

3) 과거에는 하나님의 말씀이 도덕과 법률을 지배했으나 지금은 법률지상주의가 되고 있기 때문 이라고 했습니다.

3) Before God’s word was the law and the moral basis, but now the world focuses on the law of the land.

다시 한 마디로 말하면 하나님의 말씀을 듣지 않고 인간 멋대로 하는 것이 서구 사회 몰락의 원인이라는 것입니다.

In other words, when man does not obey God’s word and just live on his/her own ways, the society collapses.

이렇게 볼때 마리아가 예수님 곁에 앉아서 말씀을 들었던 것은 칭찬 받을 만한 일인 것입니다.

That’s why Mary who listened to Jesus’ words was commended for choosing the right thing.

여러분! Beloved!

여러분들도 여러 가지 바쁜 가운데서도 마리아처럼 말씀 듣는 일을 귀하게 여기시므로 주님께 칭찬을 받으시기를 바랍니다.

In the midst of all your busy things, let us value listening to God&’s word just like Mary.

그리고 그 말씀 안에서 여러분의 삶이 더욱 윤택하게 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.

I pray that your life will prosper through the Word of God.
