무엇인가 봄의 역사를 일으켜 씨를 뿌려 놓으면 때가 되면 꽃이 피고 열매를 맺게 되는 것입니다. 세계 제2차 대전 때 영국 런던에는 하루에도 수천 대의 독일 폭격기들이 날아와서 런던을 폭격했습니다.
The seeds that were sown will one day blossom and bear fruit. During World War II, thousands of German bombers raided London every single day.
그런데 전쟁이 끝나고 런던 시가지에는 이상한 꽃들이 많이 피기 시작했습니다. 그 꽃들은 원래 영국에는 없는 꽃들이었습니다.
After the war, strange flowers began to blossom in the streets of London. These flowers were not originally from London.
이상해서 조사를 해 보니 그 꽃들은 뉴질랜드 해안가에서 많이 자라나는 꽃들인데 수백 년 전에 그 꽃씨들이 바닷물에 흘러 흘러서 영국 런던까지 밀려와서 땅속에 파묻혀 있다가 폭격을 당할 때 땅이 뒤집히면서 꽃이 피게 된 것입니다.
After some research, they found out that these flowers were originally from New Zealand. Hundreds of years ago the seeds flowed through the sea and were buried under the ground of London. The raid had caused these seeds to come out to the surface and blossom.
그렇습니다. 이것이 봄의 역사입니다. 이상하고 신기한 것이 아니라 심겨진 씨앗은 언젠가는 싹이 트고 꽃을 피우고 열매를 맺게 된다는 것입니다.
That’s right. This is an example of God’s transforming work of Spring. This should not surprise us. Seeds that are sown will blossom and bear fruit one day. This is also true in our lives.
우리 인생도 마찬가지입니다.
The same applies to our spiritual walk.
우리의 교회 생활도 우리의 신앙생활도 마찬가지입니다. 지금까지 우리 모두는 인생을 살아오면서 교회를 위해서 그리고 가족과 이웃을 위해서 나름대로 열심히 사랑의 씨앗, 위로의 씨앗, 믿음의 씨앗을 심었습니다
We have been diligently sowing seeds for our church, family, and neighbor. We have been diligently sowing seeds of love, faith, and consolation.
특별히 조상 때부터 주님을 위해, 교회를 위해 물질의 씨앗, 헌신의 씨앗, 충성의 씨앗을 열심히 심었습니다. 여러 가지 신앙의 씨앗들을 수많이 심었습니다. 그리고 아니 지금도 우리는 열심히 심고 있습니다.
In particular, as our ancestors have taught us by example, we have been sowing the seeds of offering, service, and faithfulness. We have sown many spiritual seeds and we continue to do so now.
성경에 보면 씨 뿌리는 비유가 많이 나옵니다. 그런데 씨뿌리는 비유는 우리의 영적인 생활 원리를 가르쳐 주는 비유들입니다.
The Bible is replete with parables which relate to sowing seeds. These parables teach us principles that can be applied to our spiritual walk.
그것은 하나 같이 “씨앗을 심으면 반드시 꽃이 피고 열매 맺으리라.” 다시 말해서 봄의 역사가 일어난다는 것입니다.
One common principle we learn is this: “Seeds that are sown always blossom and bear fruit.” In other words, God’s work of spring will be manifested.
그래서 농부들은 여러 가지 불안전한 여건 가운데서도 꽃피고 열매 맺는 성공에 대한 믿음의 확신을 가지고 열심히 씨를 뿌리는 것입니다.
For this reason, farmers diligently sow seeds even through difficult circumstances because they believe that the seeds they have sown will blossom and bear fruit.
그러므로 우리들의 신앙생활도 꽃피고 열매 맺는 그 날을 바라보며 믿음의 확신을 가지고 살아가야 합니다.
Therefore, we also must live by faith looking forward to that day when we will blossom and bear fruit.
그렇습니다. 우리가 하는 신앙의 모든 행위는 하나의 씨앗인 줄로 믿습니다. 그것은 때가 되면 반드시 하나님께서 꽃이 피고 열매 맺게 할 것을 우리는 믿고 확신하고 있습니다.
That’s right. All our deeds are like spiritual seeds. In due season, God will make them blossom and bear fruit.
