1.느헤미야는 크리스천의 자존심을 지켰습니다.

1.Nehemiah kept the Christian dignity.

우리가 삶을 살다 보면 큰 일, 작은 일, 쉬운 일, 어려운 일, 해야 할 일, 하지 말아야 할 일, 여러 가지 일들을 만나게 됩니다.

In life, we encounter all sorts of things. Sometimes big, sometimes small. Sometimes easy, sometimes hard. There are things we must do but also things we must not do.

그럴 때마다 우리는 느헤미야와 같이 하나님의 자녀, 크리스천이라는 것을 잊으면 안 됩니다.

In those moments, as Nehemiah did, we must never forget that we are Christians.

느헤미야는 하나님 자녀의 자존심을 지켰습니다. 그래서 그는 성공했습니다.

Nehemiah kept Christian dignity. He did not forget that he was a child of God. This led him to be victorious.

그러므로 우리도 크리스천으로서 자존심을 지키겠다는 결심이 있을 때 우리는 바로 결단할 수 있고 바로 살아갈 수 있습니다.

Therefore, we must also keep the Christian dignity and be determined to live as a child of God. This will help us live a righteous life.

그렇습니다. 우리는 하나님의 자녀답게 Dignity가 있어야 합니다. 하나님의 자녀라는 자존심을 갖는 것이 중요합니다.

That’s right. We must have dignity, for we are the children of God. This is so important in life.

우리가 살아갈 때에 장로로, 권사로, 집사로, 목사로, 구원받은 크리스천으로서 우리에게 주어진 거룩한 사명이 있습니다.

God has appointed us to be elders, kwonsas, deacons, and pastors. God saved us so that we can live as Christians.

그런데 우리는 그 어떤 경우에도 크리스천의 자존심을 지키며 주어진 사명에 충성해야 하는 것입니다.

Therefore, we must keep the Christian dignity at all costs and be faithful to our calling.

이 세상은 부패하고 타락하고, 혼란스럽고, 부정직하더라도 예수 믿는 우리 크리스천들은 자존심을 지키고 의롭게 살아야 합니다.

Though the world may be corrupt, chaotic, and dishonest, Christians like us must keep our dignity and live righteously.

그 어떤 경우에도 우리에게 주어진 거룩한 사명을 중단하면 안 되는 것입니다. 그 어떤 경우에도 사탄의 웃음거리가 되지 말아야 합니다.

Under no circumstances should we forget that God has called us to a holy life. Under no circumstances should we become a laughing stock of Satan.

일찍이 바울은 크리스천들을 향해서 “형제들아 나는 아직 내가 잡은 줄로 여기지 아니하고 오직 한 일, 즉 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버리고 앞에 있는 것을 잡으려고 푯대를 향하여 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님이 위에서 부르신 부름의 상을 위하여 달려가노라.”

The Apostle Paul said “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

원문에는 “허리를 굽히고 앞만 바라보고 전심으로 뛰어가노라”

In the original language, it reads, “I lean forward and run with all my heart.”

그렇습니다. 여러분은 나에게 주어진 거룩한 사명에 허리를 굽히고 전심으로 뛰고 있습니까? 행여라도 이 사람 저 사람 눈치 보다가 자존심 망가지고 힘들어하며 중단하지 않았습니까?

That’s right. Are you running with all your heart to guard the good deposit entrusted to you? Or have you stopped running because people have given you a hard time and hurt your pride?
