그럼 베드로와 요한의 용기는 어떤 용기입니까?
So then, what was the basis of Peter and John’s courage?
1. 그들의 용기는 믿음에 근거했습니다.
1. Their courage was based on faith.
이 세상에 많은 사람, 특히 자본주의 미국에 사는 우리는 대부분 돈의 위력 때문에
Many people in this world, especially those of us who live in the U.S., love money and the power it brings. As a result,
돈을 좋아하고 돈을 의지하려고 합니다. 하지만 그 돈은 믿을 게 못 됩니다. 돌고 도는 것이 돈입니다. 오늘은 내 주머니에 있던 돈이
many of us depend on money. However, we cannot trust money. Around and around money goes. The money that is in
내일은 여러분 주머니에 들어가기도 합니다. 그래서 돈을 의지하면 안 됩니다. 그러다가는 낙심하게 됩니다.
my pocket today might be yours tomorrow. Thus, we should not depend on money. Or else we will become discouraged.
비트코인 때문에 망하고 죽는 사람이 많습니다. 세상 권세, 명예도 박수 소리가 끝나기도 전에 수치를 당하고
So many people have gone bankrupt and died because of Bitcoin. So many people who once enjoyed fame and authority.
부끄러움을 당하는 경우가 많습니다. 그러면 사람은 믿을 만합니까? 아닙니다. 시편 기자는 “너희는 인생을 의지하지 말며 방백들도 의지하지 말라”고 합니다.
before have now been humiliated. So then, are people trustworthy? No. A psalmist said, “Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man.”
사람도 믿지 말라는 것입니다. 인생은 잠깐 보이다가 없어지는 안개와 같기 때문에 근본적으로 믿을 것이 못 됩니다.
People are not trustworthy. Life is like a mist-it dopes not last. Thus, we cannot trust in the things of this world.
다만 우리가 하나님을 믿기에 그 믿음 안에서 결혼도 하고 가정생활도 하고 사업도 하고 인간관계도 맺는 것입니다. 그렇습니다.
However, our faith in God enables us to enjoy marriage, family, work, and relationships with others. That‘s right.
베드로와 요한의 용기는 하나님을 믿는 절대적 믿음에 근거했습니다. 상대적 믿음으로는 그와 같은 용기가 있을 수 없습니다.
Peter and John’s courage was based on their absolute faith in God. No other faith could produce such courage.
그들의 믿음은 추상적인 이론이나 지식이 아니라 하나의 역사적 사건이었습니다. 예수님의 십자가와 부활에 나타난 계시를 기반으로 믿음을 세웠습니다.
Their faith was real and not theorized. Their faith was rooted in the death of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the Risen King.
그래서 예수님의 죽으심과 고난에 동참하는 것을 즐거워했습니다. 베드로를 통해서 설교를 들은 많은 사람이
As a result, they delighted in sharing in the suffering and death of Jesus. As Peter preached, many were freed and liberated
믿음으로 자유를 얻었습니다. 기적을 체험한 사람들은 회개하고 구원받고 은혜를 받았습니다. 그런데 아이러니하게도 베드로와 요한은
from their sins by faith. Those who experienced miracles repented and were saved. Ironically, Peter and John were subsequently
감옥에 갇혀 고통을 당했습니다. 이것이 기독교의 역사입니다. 초대교회 성도들은 예수를 믿는 이유를 정확히 알고 있었습니다.
imprisoned and suffered persecution. This is the history of Christianity. The early church members clearly understood why they believed in Jesus Christ.
즉, 그들은 그들이 죄인이며 예수님께서 그들을 위해 죽으심을 공공연하게 고백했습니다
In other words, they openly confessed that Jesus Christ died for them while they were still sinners.
